A tiny robot bug that reacts to light!

Build your own LumoBug Mini, switch it on, and watch it respond to light like a curious little insect. Kids assemble the wooden body, connect the sensor-based electronics, decorate their bug, and experiment with different light-sensing modes to see how robots use inputs from the world around them.

It’s a fun, hands-on introduction to robotics, sensors, circuits, and cause-and-effect thinking — without soldering, screens, or complicated coding.

How it works?

  • Build the Bug: Assemble the precision-cut wooden parts to create your own mini robot bug.
  • Wire It Up: Connect the sensor PCB, motor, and battery pack using simple plug-and-play electronics.
  • Choose a Mode: Try different light-sensing behaviours and see how the bug responds when you shine a torch or change the direction of light.
  • Decorate & Play: Colour, personalize, and make the bug your own before testing it around the room.

Why it's awesome?

  • Build a real working robot that reacts to light
  • A great first robotics kit for younger makers
  • Introduces sensors, circuits, motors, and robot behaviour in a simple hands-on way
  • 4 light-sensing modes for experimenting and play
  • Combines STEM learning with decorating and personalization
  • Safe, solder-free electronics designed for kids
  • Great for birthday gifts, school projects, weekend activities, and curious young builders

What will you learn?

  • Sensors: Understand how a robot can “sense” light and respond to it.
  • Circuits: Learn how batteries, wires, sensors, and motors work together.
  • Motors & Motion: See how electrical energy turns into movement.
  • Cause & Effect: Experiment with light direction and modes to change how your robot behaves.
  • Creative Building: Personalize your bug and build confidence through making.

FAQs

How much help will my child need to build Makerverse products?

Very little! We design our kits to be intuitive and kid-friendly. Most children aged 7 and up can follow the visual guide on their own.

Is there a step-by-step guide included?

Yes! Every kit comes with a detailed, visual instruction manual that walks you through the entire process. We focus on clear illustrations so kids can follow along at their own pace.

Do I need glue or special tools?

Nope! We’ve designed our kits for a mess-free experience. Instead of glue, we use high-precision laser-cut parts and a smart rubber-band locking system to keep everything secure. Everything you need—from the electronics to the mechanical fasteners—is included right in the box.

Is there any soldering involved?

Nope! While our kits focus on building real electronics, we use modular, plug-and-play parts. All components connect via pluggable wires, making assembly completely heat-free, safe, and—best of all—easy to take apart and rebuild if you want to experiment!

Are the materials safe for my child?

Absolutely. All Makerverse kits are BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) and ISI marked. This means every component—from the electronics to the building materials—meets rigorous national safety and quality standards for toys.

What happens if a part is missing or I break a piece?

Don't worry! If you have any trouble during the build or find a component missing, just reach out to us at +91707501103 or support@makerverse.in. We'll be happy to help you out! We want to ensure every maker successfully completes their project!

Are these products designed and made in India?

Yes! All Makerverse kits are proudly designed and manufactured in India, focusing on blending traditional themes with modern STEM learning.
